Leftover Mother's Day Flowers

Yes, this is waaay past Mother's Day but I really liked this 

small flower arrangement. As the flowers in the bouquet I 

gave my mom died off she put them in a smaller and smaller 

vase. I love this purple vase and after supper one night I just 

needed to paint it. 

Learning to Let Go

I did finish my panting on Friday, but am now just getting to post a pic. So I'm only a few days late on my goal  (which Is pretty good). 

I ended up painting with my Mom. She wanted to try a basket of flowers from the DVD Expressive Watercolor Florals 

  Mom is so picky and very detailed she had a little bit harder time letting go and letting the paint do its thing.

  Me not so much - I'm more of a "lets just wing-it" type of gal.

  Of course I like hers better & she "said" she liked mine better, but I think that's the mom in her talking:)

This is a sunflower I painted in my sketchbook. Just a trial before I go big, maybe 11x14. 
I bought this dvd Expressive Watercolour Florals by Joanne Boon Thomas. I love her style of painting, very loose & free. I want to post the large one by the end of next week. 
(I'm such a procrastinator I'm giving myself a deadline)
